Reported by Polygon, if Little Nightmares first focuses on a character named Six who tries to escape from a place called Maw, this sequel will introduce a new character named Mono.

Based on Mervik's statement, Little Nightmares 2 will tell about the adventures of Mono and Six to a place called Signal Tower.

The trailer features several stages set in an outdoor setting. This is very different from the previous game that took a background in the room.

Mervik said that Mono and Six will pass through several stages such as forests and old huts which indicate that this game will be wider than before.

New features offered in Little Nightmares 2 are fighting features. Some of the kitchen equipment seen in the trailer above seems to be used as a weapon by the main character. Mervik said that players can use these weapons to protect themselves.

Little Nightmares 2 will be released in 2020 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One platforms.
